Add following to the install instructions for Snow Leopard:
sudo chown -R root:wheel /Library/StartupItems/ChmodBPF
sudo /sbin/SystemStarter start ChmodBPF
"Puppet lets you perform normal administrative tasks (such as adding users, installing packages, and updating server configurations) on any number of systems, even if those systems are running completely different operating systems."

Excellent step-by-step instructions. (Been looking for a write-up like this for months. Thanks to cmcavoy for unearthing it.) NOTE: For this to work with Ubuntu Hardy LTS: sudo cp /usr/include/linux/version.h /usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.24-24-server/include/linux/
